Car Bra's: Pros and Cons

I've used mine for the past 2 winters with no problem. A good coat of wax prior to installation and regular removal for cleaning will keep your nose loking like new

I agree. i've had a bra on mine since new (3yrs). A good coat of a good wax & regular cleaning of the back of the bra are key.
I had soooo many stone chips on the nose of my last car ( a Toyota) I felt like I was playing connect-the-dots with the touch up paint. I swore then that I would have a bra on the next car....Have one on the wife's Miata as well.

My 2 cents...

I also bought a bra for long trips. It works awesome. I live in the city so there's no need to use it then. It is..however, I b**** to put on. Compared to some Honda nose bra's I've previously installed. I agree, good wax and regular cleaning should keep that nose looking brand new. Regarding looks, it really Depends. I think it doesn't look bad. It serves a purpose. Damn BUGS!!! And I don't roll with it all the time. So if you live in the city, i don't think there is a need for one, but if you plan on making long trips, might be a good investment.

Agree on the bug issue, my commute has me driving by some wetlands (= lotsa bugs!) and the bra is much easier to clean than the paint.

super old thread, does anyone know where I could purchase the OEM Mazda Protege5 Bra from Im planning a trip from Florida to New Jersey. Would be much help!

Ditto, has it's uses. 30 mile frwy commute predawn for bugs, 30 mile frwy afternoon commute home for rocks. Clean it regularly and no issues.......except no freckle face chippy chippy action. Looks like an executioner mask, lol. I actually have 2 so I have a clean one at all times ready to go.
