Ok this seems wierd...did some 1.6's NOT come with an EGR system ??? (boom07)

I have had my car since it was new...so nobody came along and modified it....

there is no EGR stuff even listed on the underhood sticker vacuum routing diagram

I dont see anywhere the EGR boost sensor solonoid

there is a big metal "plug" screwed into my exhaust manifold where the EGR pipe should be

I looked at the FSM for where the EGR "should" be located, and it's simply not there....unless I'm just completely blind !!!!!

1.6ers please help !!!

Somebody post a pic of where their EGR is so I can solve this mystery

pics

yeah, our 1.6's have no EGR system, just like we only have one cat. I guess they don't need them.

BTW, your camera can't focus upclose (thumb)

The EGR valve of the 1.6L 2000 model is below the throttle body. There should be 2x 12mm bolts holding it and above has 4x screwed holding on top with the sensor. Its the circular shaped thing that links beneath the throttle body... Its toward to the driver's side... So you have to look pretty far in... There should be a circular shaped sensor with 4 screws holding it in black color under the throttle body... Sigh I wish I had a picture, then it would be easier to describe...
