I am trying to pull the engine on my MSP, and I am in the process of trying to remove the CV axle. The one thing that is holding me up is the Axle nuts on both drivers and passengers side. I know you have to pop the lock somehow but Idk how to do that on an MSP. I already broke a small breaker bar trying to get the nut loose. Please give me some input.

you just have to break them loose try some heat. I remember the first time i had to break mine loose i had a 3/4" breaker bar with one of the legs from my engine hoist on it. That's what finally got it to break loose for me.

Use a big impact. If you don't have one go someplace where someone does.

I have an Impact wrench and it is decent and it didnt work. how long of a breaker bar should I use and how do I "un-lock" the nut?

There's a small groove on the axle that the edge of the nut is bent onto. Did you take a screw driver and bend it up and out of the groove?

yes I did do that but it still isnt coming off. How long of a bar should I use to put leverage on the nut.

Got it. Put a torch on each nut for 5 minutes then got a two footer and used some MAD MUSCLE!!! Thanks for yals help!

Lol, just saw this post, and had to add that I was bouncing up and down on a 10 foot bar once upon a time, (was not the mazda ha) but ended up grinding off the nut eventually... so if heat and alot of torque do not work, you may have to get clever. But glad to see that you got it loose!
