Potential Scammer!
You guys are going to love this story. Well I'm at work this afternoon and my fiancee calls. She says that the bank I had my last car loan through(00 Civic) called and said there was a problem with my account. I thought to myself, how could there be a problem? The car was supposed to be paid off by my Mazda dealer after I traded it in. So the account should be closed. So I call my old bank and they said that the check from the dealer bounced. :wtf: Then they said they tried to call the dealer but they were closed. I said that they should be open till 7pm so I tried calling. I called the dealer and the answering machine picked up. It said that they are temporarily closed and if I need any info call Mazda N.A. So I called Mazda and they said that my dealer is indefinitely closed. They also tell me that they closed on March 31st with no notice to Mazda N.A. So here I am and thinking to myself I'm f$#@^d!" I ask if there is any contact # for the owner. They just have his name, no number. I call my bank back and told them I could only get the owners name. So here I am with a new car and payment and also still owing on my old car because of my stupid dealer! Anyone know what I should do? Thanks for your help, Evan

Agreed!
I'd also call the district atturney ASAP about it.

Agreed, you have a signed legal contract with the dealer to pay your car off. It is his responsability to make sure that it is taken care of. Call the BBB, the State attourny (sp) general, a private lawyer, Mazda N.A. also again, and file a formal complaint.

Also the dealer never really owned that car you traded in becuase they would have to pay off the loan to get the title from the bank your loan was with so they whould have had to sell your car illegaly to someone else so technicaly your bank is still the owner of the car. They should have there lawyers all over it.

holy s***, I've never heard of anything like this happening. Yeah, first thing. Def get the lawyer. Call Johnny man.

I didn't think a business could just close like that. Wouldn't they go Chapter 11 or something first to get all the debts removed. Maybe they already did that once and still couldn't run on the plus side. Maybe the owners in jail now. Man, this just sucks no matter how you look at it. Hopefully it turns out good for you though. Good luck

and another one ..put your car into hiding ..where no one will find it .. lol not even the repo man lol at least untill this is cleard up

its hard to say that the dealer will pay if they have filed for bankrupcy. make some legal action quick or you might lose your chance. you only have a limited time to claim your money. i'm sure any well qualified lawyer would be able to get your payments done.

(protest)
man that really sucks...sorry that had to happen to ya!
you should def get a lawyer asap...hopefully it will get resolved!
