Can you remove the battery without pulling the strut brace?

You could've removed the strut brace in the time it took you to ask this question.

ok so lets say im stuck on the highway with a dead battery (crap happens). i forgot to put my tool kit in the car but do have a 10mm wrench. i only have enough money to buy another battery from wherever i walk to. how would i take off the strut bar?

looks like your walking to autozone my friend and using the loan a tool program, calling someone, purchase the tools needed and return them once done.

^Step 1: take off the 4 nuts holding it down.
Step 2: Lift off the strut brace
There is no step 3. Well, I guess taking out the battery is step 3 through 5 (if you count the hold down and each terminal as a step).

The correct answer is to have a revelation that you were smart enough to keep a spare socket set in your trunk with your emergency roadside assistance kit that you're also supposed to have :)

i like how no one could answer it except for "you are screwed" lol.

there is no way that i know, if stock, to remove the battery without taking off the brace. its a pretty dumb location to put a battery. for normal people who dont know squat about cars or mechanics....they wont carry a socket kit or anything. whats that called...not user friendly?

That would be me (the don't know squat part). I registered for this forum just so I could look up this thread. Bought the battery, un-hooked the old one, then stood there looking at it for 10 minutes at a complete loss for how to get it out. And since I know squat, I wasn't sure if removing the bar would have some other unforseen consequence.

Short story - thanks for the info everyone!

Do you have the original air cleaner? With an injen on there, you can just tip the battery and remove and replace - no need to pull the bar or even loosen the nuts. But make sure the caps aren't gonna leak acid when you do this. I even shoved a group 24 battery in there this way, which is like an inch longer.
