hello everyone.. (spin)
well, it sure is nice to finally find fellow p5'ers around me....(cool)
i own a silver 2003.5 P5(manual)(silverp5)w/o roof rack
i attend UIC but live in Des Plaines.
I read some previous posts about people seeing P5's in UIC. does anyone else here goto UIC? i park at lot 4...
so far, i've seen a silver with roof rack, and yellow one with roof rack and polished alloy wheels.

well, I would like to do some mod for my car but since i don't know much about cars so...(hand)
so far, i've changed my head light & fob light bulbs... hehe
further mod i would like to get:
1) CAI intake (brand name or ebay?)
2) mesh grill (or just paint stock grill?)
3) tint windows (get it done or learn to do it on my own?)
4) led shift knob/pedals (i personally like led ones but they look cheap quality)

i would greatly appreciate it if anyone with any knowledge about any mod (lol) (up there) are willing to give me advices or better yet just help me!!

I'M THE YELLOW ONE (yippy) . i usually park on the top floor. if you want, you can check out the car. I've got an injen CAI, the racing beat cat back, tints, and a killer sound system. it'll give you ideas. i'll be back at uic monday. and i work in uic library so i should be available all day. my aim is shareef708

yeah, but there really isn't anything to it. the intake was easy enough, didn't even have to lift up the car or anything. the cat back just needed the rear driver side lifted up, and the rest bolts right into place, the tints are from a shop, and the system i've been doing myself since my first car. i can help you with anything you wanna get done. i'm actually looking to get coilovers for my car soon, but i'll probably wait till the meet to see the difference between springs and coilovers.

i definetly suggest, if your hesistant about mods, to wait to the meet and then u can get a taste of where to go with your car. or you could just ask on this forum, i've gotten a ton of help. actually, i've gotten ALL of my help from these guys. so i'll be glad to pass the help along.

1) get the Injen one, expensive but very nice
2) dont make the mesh grille yourself, buy one it's alot easier. painting the grille is cool, but you have to repaint it every year because of chipping. (come to think of it i have to do mine soon)
3) DO NOT DO IT ON YOUR OWN!!! get it done at a professional shop, thats what i did. front driver and front passenger sides are illegal, that is up to you. i have 5% all around.
5) LED shift knob no way! if you cant see your shift knob or your pedals you shouldnt drive! lol J/k! ken sells a nice JDM light up shift knob for the RX-8 that can be fit on ours, if i had $160 laying around i would buy it!
6) exhasut as well. racing beat has the best bang for the buck, and it would complement the CAI in HP #'s.

1) Injen CAI or K&N Typoon Intake from www.protegegarage.com( I have K&N and I think it is much better than injen from my experiences) however, ebay CAI is also fine, you just need to get K&N cone filter
2) Mesh grill...don't do it... personally I think it gives rice look...unless it's billet grill
3) Tinting..DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF, let the shop to do it for ya. price range is $150~200
4) Led shift knob...it's your call, everybody have different values
5) do Exhaust ... mazdaspeed sport exhaust from joliet mazda dealer(around $130~150 until end of April, usually it runs over $200) or racing beat catback system($400~$450)
if you want loud system, then HKS axle back exhaust(expensive...$~300 or more)
or Greddy evo (very loud but it has huge tip!!!)
6) lower your car!!!
