Can 6.5" speakers fit Mazda 3 sedan?

I would like to upgrade my mazda 3 sedan car audio, but don't know which size of speaker to use...
6.5" seems have more nicer speaker design than other size ... therefore i wonder if 6.5" can fit perfectly with Mazda 3 or not ?
or I must use 5x7 / 6x8 if I want them to be matched perfectly?

I read somewhere that it will fit, but with an adapter plate.

yes it will fit... most 6" speakers come with adapter plates when you order them now adays... if not its easily made with some mdf... you must when putting in new speakers retian the rain gaurd to put over the back of your new speakers, and you should also cut the plastic piece that sticks out of the plastic door panel to mate to the oval speaker or your speaker could hit it and damage the speaker.... if you have any other q's ask away... i have intimate knowledge of these damn front doors now... been inside of them way to much and probably goin in one more time for some more sound deadening....
