I saw a cam shaft on Corksport the other day that claimed it added 12WHP to the P5. Is this true? If it is this will be the next MOD. And if I install this, are there any other MODS that have to go with it? Thanks as always for the help guys.

i thought it was true? the stock FS usually lays about 99-102 to the wheels, the majority of people who have dynoed with cams have about 110-112

maybe not 12 to the wheel, but an average of like 9-10, its close enough to 12 i guess, horsepower varies by car/conditions also

No.

Again, no, not even close. Maybe 2 or 3 at the wheel. Please don't try to get mad at me for saying that, I'll just have to smack you with the fact that several people put these in their MP3 and only got that. And this is with the advanced timing of the MP3.

I was just going by what I've read and been told on the protege forums

edit: sounds like it would be 12 hp with "other mods", so alone, yeah big ben is most likely right

thats like when K&N says "UP TO 20 MORE HP!"

The FS-ZE in Japan is rated at 170 bhp at the flywheel, I think that the cams and intake manifold must be a big part of that, although i know that the ECU helps. I think that with both cams and the intake 12whp is not a lot to ask.
Why the hell didn't mazda just drop the FS-ZE in the Protege5 in the first place.

Nope, check that info again. The sport 20 in Japan is rated at 170ps not hp. In American HP that's about 155. It's jut like those stupid Canadians and their Celcius.:D

THE METRIC SYSTEM JUST MAKES SENCE DAMNIT
Really and truly, I agree. feet are stupid also. Meters moke so much more sense. I just hate that there isn't a unit like the inch. that would be the hardest thing to get used to. I can't visualize 80 centimeters. There needs to be a unit between a centimeter and a meter. Then it would be perfect.
I know, I'll invent one. It's called the Benemeter. It's 5 centimeters.

Oh, ok, see, I don't know s*** about the metric system. Dammit, I though I was on to something. Stupid Americans.:D

I wouldn't sweat it, here in canada, most fluids are messured in milliliters (ml), so you can imagine when I went to sweden, and they use centiliters and deciliters (yeah, I'll have 59 centiliters of coke please... so odd)

I dont know how we got on the metric system, but let me rant for a second. I have a buddy from poland. The U.S. is stubborn. And it's not just weights and measures. I'ts EVERYDAMNTHING.
He was an air traffic controller. Here, pilots must meet FAA regulations. In EVERY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, they use a single, worldwide standard. So we refuse to be proficient in the MORE stringent worldwide standard and stick with our own LESS exact system.
We use a certain digital cell phone language, kind of like Java is a certain "computer" language. Canada and a couple other countries use it, a couple (including britain) use both. But all the rest use ONE SINGLE LANGUAGE.
Hell, the western calendar is a whole 1/4th of a day off, yet we refuse to just change clocks to make it accurate. Instead we have "leap year." Comparably in cars, this would be like having the timing off in your car. But instead of just fixing the timing, you just replace your rods, pistons and valves every few thousand miles. Right.

Sorry, so off topic.

Actually I heard that the government converted to the metric system but It hasn't taken anywhere yet. Like big Ben said, it's just hard to picture 1 decimeter when you can say 4 inches and we know what you're talking about.

And yeah metric does make a lot of sense, that's why most people use formula's to convert standard to metric before doing any type of equations with them.

Did you *not* read this?

if you want to be politically correct about the FS-ZE engine, it is rated at ~168hp and ~163hp for the 02.5+ ones (0.98603hp*170ps=167.6251hp and 0.98603hp*165ps=162.69495hp)... just FYI

(lol) (owned)
