Cam Install

Potential Scammer!
I just got my cams and was going to install them but I have one question. Are they a direct install or do I need to get the different pucks for the valve clearance. The manual states the valve clearance, I just need to know if I need to pick some up prior to ripping the motor apart. Where can I get the pucks besides the dealer? I really hope I don't have to screw with them. Thanks, Evan

Any one else know about this? I really want to install my cams in my car this is the only thing holding me back from installing them!:(

A puck is another term for a "shim", which is used to adjust the valve clearances when installing a camshaft. Usually if the engine has low mileage and the cam is a drop-in replacement, no shims are needed, however it is always a good idea just to double check the clearances.

Update

I have not been able to install the cams due to lack of time. I will be installing them when my friend gets back from Utah next week. I will take pictures and notes along the way. Hopefully I will have enough info for a how-to. I'll keep you guys posted. Evan
