well i used the search and didnt find what i was looking for so...
i was wondering how far can u advance the timing w/ the gears and still be fine on the streats w/ pump gas.
i was thinking about 2 degrees? what do u guys say. also what HP do u think u whould gain from that?

sorry if this has been descused before...

i think you're asking the wrong combination of questions....the timing can not be adjusted by adjusting the gears. our car does not have a distributor and the ecu decides when to spit the spark into the engine.

adjusting the cam gears adjust the power band through the rev range....possibly power to be gained there, but i havent seen anything about this yet

on the cam gears subject, are tripoint the only to make them at the moment?

yeah i should clarrify what i wrote, you are adjusting the "timing" on when the valves open and close. timing is not a very appropriate word for that, gets too easily confused with ignition timing (most common use of the word timing)

anyway, damn wish other companies will give us a choice of cam gears...grrrrrrrrr

I am happy their is atleast one. The price isnt bad compared to the rest either. Also one thing they do use which is better is 5 bolts instead of three which has a tendacy to slip.

you know i searched and searched and couldnt find a retailer for tripoint cam gears...but i might get them when i get my intake camshaft...

i just want damn light weight cam gears to minimise drivetrain loss and to eventually adjust the cam position
