to each their own:)

there is nothing useable or fun about anything making over 250whp

numerous friends of mine agree with me and they have fwd cars that are moded.

like my friend selling his gsr turbo.
it makes over 300whp. with the simple mods and its useless and he hates it.
another friend of mine with a turbo si. just got it turboed and hates wheelspin.

if high hp is a goal fwd is not a car to mess with.
1.traction is crap.
2.corners are crap with that much power.
3.tires get destroyed esp with open diff.
4. fwd trannies/axles are weak as hell.
5. unless you drive dot slicks daily you will never beat anything out there b/c tires will spin insanely.

i guess numerous friends mean that you are 100% right....

okay dude. you're 100% right. I'm confused/wrong/don't have a clue.
I've been happy with what I have and will continue to be. I like to stay with what I have for the age of a car (7years)

eh, i dont even really plan to go much higher, if even hit 250whp, to be honest, i like the way the car looks, i love the way the car handles, it is a usable 4 door with a decent stereo, and it was affordable, no need to dog FWD cars, just cus its not your thing doens't mean other people dont like it, eventually i'll own my vette and have the glory of being pushed instead of pulled, but until then the protege will do just nicely :D...

not to mention, where did that come from? haha, we were talking about spending money, for all intensive purposes, it could have been about buying body kits, rims and graphics :p...

So are we gonna have a meet sometime this summer? gingerman raceway in western michigan has test and tune nights for 60 bucks on tues/wed/thurs. and i could probably get us a group rate.

or worst case just go out for some pizza and a beer.

My car is rear wheel drive and even I agree with phaudio, sure you might not use that power in the city but out on the twisties you can fly! just dont floor it in the corner and you dont have to worry about hitting stuff. the power doesnt change how the car turns, handles, launches, or anything like that as long as you know how to drive

anyway, pizza and beer sounds good if no tracktime

definitly, hell, even if it was only a few guys that showed i'd still go, gingerman has a nice layout from the overheads and diagrams i've seen, so if someone sets something up i'll try to plan around it (thumb)

I'm there quite often with our club at WMU, plus i know Kathy and Bob (track managers) pretty well. it opens april 1st. but i'd be happy with a meet sometime at the end of april after i graduate.
