calling all miatas -->

Well, it was fun while it lasted. I've officially ephed up my car. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong but my suspension hates me right now and I bent a wheel up pretty bad. I probably won't have it back and running for a while.

HI2UCURB. That's pretty much how it went. No traction, and loosing control, ftl.

sorry to hear that Kristin, I'm sure it won't be too bad to fix

Like I said, I don't know the whole issue. I do know that my front left looks like I just slapped some lowering springs on it. I'm guessing that strut/shock (whatever you want to call it) got torn up pretty bad. My right left wheel is what popped my back on the road and that sucker just wobbles like crazy.

It was kinda freakish how the incident happened. Of all things I was expecting my bumper and lip to be torn to hell but I saved that by turning my car from the curb. When I did that the back end went into DRIFT0 mode and that's when I lost control. My right front wheel hit the curd then I jumped over it and my back left wheel bounced from the curb and put me back on the road. It was a ping pong affect. I'm actually surprised nothing else is damaged. As low as it sits and as high as that curb was I really expected some body damage. Either way, this gives me an excuse to buy my new wheels and stick some coilovers on it. ;p

ps: money sucks.

Kristin,
Have you ever considered taking the bus? :p

I'm seeing a girl named Kristin. I wish she had a Miata. I don't think she likes mine. :D She does have a 3 liter X-type that's pretty fast. Fast enough for her to get a 350 dollar speeding ticket the other week. There should be some sort of Miata lovers dating service.

Sorry about the Miata damage there Kristin.

There's my damage and I put some light on the situation adding the frown and "owned."

Nice pics, especially #3. Should try to get a vinyl decal to apply to your hood. Still enjoy your color(not as much as mine (poke) )

Why thank you sir! I love taking pictures of these cars, just wish I knew my camera better.

Do you recall where the clutch engaged on my(zak's) car? I never noticed when I first drove it and today it seemed to be engaging low, near the floor.

Honestly I'm not sure. I only drove the car once or twice in the year or two that he owned it and I think it was closer to the floor than mine was, but then again there are a few more years on that pressure plate than there are on my car.

It still shifts fine :) I just noticed it being low and couldn't remember where it was engaging. When I bring it in for the T-belt I will have things checked. I contacted the place you mentioned and it sounds good and they seem friendly, just wish they were closer. I know of a miata race shop locally that I thought of contacting to see if they do any routine stuff.

Oh, did you see those wheels I was talking about?
