I asked them if they could get ahold of any more and they said "We can but they just don't seem to sell." I laughed at him and said "You get one, and you just made a sale."
But then again I am thinking about the stock turbo. Do I really want to deal with it? Turbo is something I don't really want to have because of all the problems you run into. Eh. It's kinda weird, but when I got the 01 I was like "I just can't do that to that little car.." You find out how much that MSM is and PM me some information. I can't deal with too much money. Heh. The 2005 was marked at 24 and I laughed at him and as soon as that happened I got the "But we can work on it." talk. So, I'll have to wait it out and see what happens. I'd much rather have the regular ole' MX-5 than a MSM but if I can snatch a MSM I might as well go for it.
benimal said:Surely you've seen the ad at the mazdasouth.com web site? They are advertising, under their weekly specials, a 2005 MSM for $20,995. Last week it was $19,995. I'm sure they would give it to you for $20K without too much work, I would pick it up but: 1) My wife would not like me extending my car payments even though she'd "look cute in it", 2) my friend would kill me cause he and I just spent 15 hours deadening, putting a complete system in my MSP, and installing 1stys grounding kit.

ever get that information?tunersteve said:Ditto. Ti Gray is the s***. I was supposed to get an MSP that color, but the dealership sold it an hour before I took my dad back to fill out the paperwork.
-Kristin said:Then I am stuck with the 2001. That's what made the deal so sweet here, they were going to do a simple trade-off. I'd be more than happy to call and see if I can arrange the same deal as I was trying to do here, either way they win in the situation since my 2001 is only worth about 10k.
I can't just say "Oh, nice car I want to buy!#%" I have to think about the car I am paying for now. It has to go somewhere, I can barely make it with the one I have now much less two of them, but that'd be pretty sweet if that could workout. So there is my main hurdle in this whole situation, I either need to find a solid buyer for the 2001 or I need to do a trade with the dealership.
benimal said:Ah see.. I missed that. I didn't realize that was the deal you had struck. I don't see you getting anywhere near 10K on a trade-in for your current Miata. Your best bet would be to sell it privately. You won't save on the sales tax like you would with a trade-in, but at the same time you won't get bent over a barrel on what they give you you for your current whip.
BTW, based on 42K miles and assuming excellent condition for a regular old 5-speed MX5 you are looking at a shade under 9K trade-in (KBB value). Not sure what you owe on it now, but just something to consider.
