I already did a search on thisbut only found some of the info i was looking for.
First. what paint do you gus recommend? i heard of 2: G2 (supposedly on the pricey side) and Duplicolor High Heat. Now i would like to just do this without having to remove the calipers, i did see some people just taped off the wheel well, and the rotor with newspaper and just spray painted it. That seems easy enough but im not too confident on spraying so i wouldnt mind using a brush if it will be as easy and/or look better. What do you guys think/recommend?
By the way, im going with the Yellow caliper paint to match the logo of my new wheels.

i've used a high-temperature caliper/engine paint AND good old tremclad and the tremclad has lasted better. i'd recommend it...plus you can brush it on.

That's a really nice job. Where are these paints available? I'm guessing Pepboys or Home Depot? How many coats did you put on/ how long did it take?

this is the Tremclad paint. i got it at Canadian Tire so that ain't gonna help you! i don't know if you have tremclad in the states, but it's basically a multi-purpose metal/rust paint.

edit: s***...sorry about the size...

more editing: to answer some other questions, i put 3 coats on each caliper letting each one dry to the touch before reapplying. you're going to end up spending a few hours doing this since you have to wait for each coat to dry. i started when i got home from work one day (6:00 or so), and finished up everything at 10:00pm or so (with many beer/food/tv breaks in between).

Cool, thanks for the pic and info. I may be going red on my red 3 as well.

don't to red on red.... use black or something to offset the red a bit.... (but thats just my .02 and wth do i know????)

EDIT::: with a darker colored wheel it will look good... imo though with a silver or similiar colored wheel the same color caliper as body don't look to good... you need something to "set" it off, such as a darker wheel or a diff then body color..

yeah mace i wouldnt go red on red. i would go maybe yellow calipers.
i like the paint job drumsbeloud, i will see if we have that brand here in the states.

Well, I have red calipers on my red P5 behind Gunmetal wheels. I like it personally. Don't have any pics. I used Duplicolor's caliper paint kit that I got at Advance Autoparts for $15. Four brush-on coats and I think it looks awesome. (rockon)

I got my paint at Checker Auto but its also at Wal-Mart too. I sanded the calipers then used the metal cast base coat followed by the blue annodized paint.

I painted the calipers back in 2003 and they are still holding up fine.
If you want red on red then find a color that comes really close to your body color.

Here is another picture with the rims that I will be getting as soon as I come up with the money. This is paint after more than 2 years of driving and racing.
