CAI filter getting wet

So I recently installed the AEM CAI and if it's not actually pulling harder, the sound is certainly making my brain feel like it is. I like how the ducting in the front grill actually feeds fresh air to the filter while driving but I was a little concerned that it could also be feeding rain back there while driving. So after driving home through a hard rain the other day, I pulled out the filter and sure enough, it was wet. Not soaking wet and I didn't notice any issues but for piece of mind I want to install a pre-filter (hydroshield). Anyone have the part # of a pre-filter that will fit that huge AEM filter?

a little damp does NOTHING. It won't harm anything. You'd have to run the car into a lake to ingest enough water to hurt the engine. Stop worrying and enjoy the AEM as is. (boom08)

x2

unless you plan on rescuing people after the next katrina dont worry about it

moisture is good, it cools combustion, hence water/meth injection

You're killing me. What happened to 'don't worry about a thing'?

just kidding!

iv had the injen cai on my car since i bought it and the pervious owner had it and had cut away the splash gaurd from under the filter area and he didnt have any problems, injust played it safe and put a new splash gaurd in but my car sees tons of wet weather and im fine

and so will you, just drive accordingly and youll be fine

you dont hit speeds bumps and 45 mph, dont do it with puddled areas either
