Anyone else have this? It's not really bad but just kind of backfires a little I guess you could say. It's only for a few seconds when I first start the car and then it runs fine

Hey spending another $120+ (I got a really good deal thanks to a member on here) to maybe get what was dynoed at 2 hp more didn't make sense to me.

It's bee doing if from the start, on colder mornings really. Now that you mention it I don't think it really did it this morning. I've only got 2300 on the car so I guess maybe the ECU is adjusting.

i have the same problem, when its cold and after it sat for awhile(overnight)
it revs up to 2100 rpm and settles for mabye a sec. then dies or slowly dies.
when i put my foot on the gas to keep the revs up it wants to cut out even more. I reset my mpg to 0 then started it, when it was warm my mpg said 999.9!, another time i started it and as soon as it could idle on its own i drove it and the mpg was 25 and up(barely touching the gas) it should be around 4-8 mpg. and i live in canada so obviously the reading is a little different.
so its running rich, someone mentioned to me that it has to do with it being in open loop or closed loop(1 or the other) i cant remember.

but ya ive been wait for the cold so this problem happens more often so the dealer can fix it.

Hi rev during cold starts is normal.

You must disconnect the negative battery cable and drain all power from the car thats being stored. Tap the brakes to do so. ECU must be reset in order to adapt.

Yeah it's nto the high reving that i was wondering about it was the sputtering/back firing type thing it was doing. i guess it's only from the cold weather anyway. thanks guys.

Well there is an update for our ECU's specifically targeting cold startup A/F ratios. When did you purchase the car?

my build date is 08/06, i bought it in january 07. everytime i go to the dealer the shop foreman hooks my car up to the computer and there is no update, hopefully next time i go they will have it.

mabye its a different kind of update?.

Just to let you know, I am still having that same problem. I am quite fed up with so called "technician/mechanics" that cannot (or will not) understand and troubleshoot without a code.

I wonder if any 08's are having this issue. Also, did they fix the engine mount problem for 08. Anyone know(nailbyt)
