CAI and hydrolock. How to prevent?

Since you already have the MS CAI...

That's SICK Dude! GJ

Similar to what the MSPs did. Take the end of the pipe off that dives into the wheel well. Mount the filter right next to the MAF and tadah! You've got a short ram intake. No worries about hydrolock, but slightly less power than a CAI

It's the Mazdaspeed 3 CAI wtih the bottom part of the tube taken off and the filter stuck on the end of the first tube. It's a perfect fit, you almost have to wonder if they had this in mind? I went ahead and put the 'air director' and all that crap back in place too. If there's a power/sound difference I can't detect it

power/sound dif from the regular CAI or stock?

thanks for the info btw :)

Now that is a bright idea! Thanks for sharing this setup. Being in Canada and fearing from the harsh winters we have with the MS CAI, this is the way I'll go rather than reverting back to the stock air filter box. (2thumbs)

If I could do it again...or had to make the decision now, I would go with the Cobb SRI. nice choice!
