Currently I am working as a music supervisor at a creative advertising house in Hollywood. We create motion picture TV adds, print adds, and theatrical trailers for upcoming features or DVD releases. I live in Thousand Oaks, and commute out everyday.

I am looking for something in the auto industry. Not so much the selling of cars, but aftermarket sales/research/development/and promotions area.
I am very dedicated, enthusiastic, and devoted to the car community, and am willing to re locate pretty much anyone in Ca. I am available to go to any or all events in my spare time, to make this happen. Because not only do I want to make a career of this, but I enjoy it.

I am a semi moderator on this Mazda forum, and have set up many group buys, with major after market companies such as Injen and McCullcoh HIDs. In January 2001 I flew to Japan with a team of a 2 camera crew to produce and shoot a DVD for Tokyo Auto Salon. In the near future, I will be working on setting up a dyno day with Magnaflow located in Rancho Santa Margarita. I am also responsible for the So cal mazda community and all of our upcoming meets, events, and track days.

I have expirence in the following computer programs:

Microsoft Excel
Filemaker Pro
Avid Editing Systems
Outlook Express
Final Cut Pro 3
I- Mix Video Cube
MS Word
Adobe Photoshop
and a few others here and there...

Please contact me for past or current job info.

I would consider myself to be outgoing, friendly, organized, and very personable and would love the opportunity to do something I can suceed in and have as a hobby at the same time.

PM me if you guys are interested in a job in the car rental industry. Starting pay for the 1st year is around $35K. Very stable, not very glamourous, but you'll be making $70K or more in 3 years if you're willing to stick it out. It is a tough job, but the rewards are there (including great benfits and fleet discounts on pretty much any automobile manufacturer out there)

edit in: Call me at my direct line at 818-972-2213 if anyone is interested.

I finally am in a job with a good company, state benefits, great coworkers, predominately women, but the pay sucks ass!! Funny, I was in the opposite, where money was good, but the job sucked, and guess what, I will take the drop in pay any day and save my sanity and wake up and enjoy going to work any day!! Money is the means, not the end! Although, it would be nice to have more.

Hey Spicy, long time no talk. I'm in a similar situation in that I wanted to get a career in the automotive industry. I even went out and got a degree in mechanical engineering. Well, I recently graduated and am now seriously thinking about my career. Whenever I consider a future in the auto industry (OEM, aftermarker etc...) one thing keeps sticking out in my mind. I know a lot of people in the aftermarket industry and most of them are burnt out to the point of hating it. I havn't decided one way or the other but I would warn you against trying to make a career out of a hobby. Nothing ruins a good thing faster then having too much of it. That's just my 2 cents -take it or leave it. Good luck on the job hunt.

Jay,

Whats the starting pay on that IT job? I'm currently doing IT Support and Web design for a large corporation but looking around for other opportunities. I currently do all of the above of your task list.

Since it is an entry level position, I belive it starts at around $35-36K for the 1st year. Full benefits (medical/dental/401K/profit sharing/discounts through pretty much every automobile manufacturer out there......)

I commend everyone who is doing what they can to help out our little community here .... this was an awesome idea, Steph. And Kudos to Jay for stepping up to the plate. Wish I could take you up on that IT Position .. I'm a Jr. Network Admin right now in the hectic world of Las vegas Shows and conventions .. constantly setting up maintaining and tearing down all sorts of network topologies ... plus I used to work for AVIS in SFO for years , so I'm familiar with the demands of the industry... AND I have family in Gardena... jeez.. that job sounds like it was made with me in mind ..... lol... will they let me telecommute from Vegas ? .... Keep it up , everyone.. ..In this economy, we all need all the help we can get.
