Bypass Module for Viper 5901

I'd like to install a Viper 5901 Alarm/Remote starter in my 09 MS3. Does anyone know which key bypass module I need to make it work? Viper's website says the CANMAX400, but I haven't found anyone's mention of a bypass module in posts about starters on MS3's. I'm aware of the precautions I need to take with the manual transmission, and I'm not worried as I will be wiring to the neutral wire at the ECU. Also, even though the Viper website suggests the CANMAX400, wouldn't the CANMAX400DEI be a better buy? They're about the same price and from my understanding the CANMAX400DEI docks directly with viper models.

Also, the CANMAX400 is also a door lock interface. Does this mean I'd be wiring the door locks to this module? I've done 2 remote start/alarm installs in the past and on both of those the bypass module was only for the key, and the door locks were wired to the alarm module. Lastly, from my understanding, is this a keyless key bypass module...meaning I won't have to lose a key in this? That'd be great!

Thanks!

Yes it is a keyless module. The part auto learns the vehicle therefore there is no need to lose a key. I would use the PKFM though. It is much easier to install and program. It is also Data2Data which means it will plug directly into the Viper 5901. You would use this part for transponder bypass only. Hook up door locks like regular. Oh yea and you don't need to use the neutral safety wire as long as you do the manual transmission sequence described in the manual. Might save you some trouble with that PCM...

Thank you! I changed my order to the PKFM, it looks much easier to install and I won't need to program it! And it's less expensive!

I actually have the same model Viper unit.

I had the installer use the neutral safety because the 10 step process is far too complicated in my opinion for the manual transmission module.

They removed the manual trans module, used the neutral safety, and now I just get out of the car, lock the doors and I'm done.

Just my .02

Thanks, that's what I was planning on using. I was originally going to have a shop install this, and they told me about the manual shutdown procedure, which was completely ridiculous and made me not want it anymore. Once I found out about the neutral safety wire on the MS3 I ordered a starter right away!

Anyone know where in Alabama to get this remote start installed on a MS3?

Does this alarm do a turbo timer as well?
