Sold my 08.5 Mazdaspeed 3 GT and got a new Mitsu Evo X GSR. The MS3 is a fantastic car but got to the point where I really was missing a AWD car and wished I had at least kept one of my old WRXs. I thought about picking up an old GD STI for a project car but really wanted an AWD daily as well, so I finally got to test drive a 2010 STI and a 2010 Evo GSR. I was surprised at how disappointed I was with the STI and simply amazed at the the Evo.
If you're considering making a move to either one, Evo is the better move, as I felt the STI was actually below par compared to the MS3. Yes, the AWD can put down the power in a different (not better) fashion, but then handling, feel, and steering of the MS3 blows the STI away. The STI has a great clutch and 6 speed, I'll give it that.
I don't want to turn this into yet another STI vs. Evo vs. MS3 argument, but I'll just leave it at this: Go test drive each back to back, and then evaluate what exactly you want out of the car both stock and with mods.
Here's some pics. Much like the MS3, it'll remain fairly stock, though I've already got a Cobb Accessport and flashed it Stage I.
