BUYING a new MSP. Where?

hey, i posted this on another thread hoping for some answers but as an afterthought why not make my own?

My friend is looking for a new car as his cavalier is about ready to crap out (rightfully so, ha ha ha). I said "MSP MSP!!" I'm already spent on an 04 cooper S (clearly) but i can still show HIM the light!

What is the best dealer to go through? I'm talkin about those 16k and 16.5k deals people are getting. I'm just not seeing village and feeman mazda cutting 5k$ off of their sticker prices...That and village or freeman ( i cant remember which one, it was a while ago) were assholes to me on the fone when i was asking about the MSP's.

I need juice people! ASAP would be good, but id rather get info than the shaft . BTW any info is good info, as im running on tidbits from this forum right now. I couldnt find anything about current incentives on the mazdausa website either, but at least i looked.

16,000 in Texas might be pushing it. I got mine for 19,900 minus 2500 in rebates. So call it 17,400.

Anyways, do you kno of any military discounts. I'm sure there is one, and he's in the reserves, so he sure as hell deserves one, but just wondering. It probably depends on the delaership though im guessing.

Invoice and sticker are different. Damn mazda upped the rebate to 2500 right after I got mine. I got the 500 dollar college credit though so I guess it's not too bad


Texas has MSPs left but I don't see the dealers throwing them out the door like in other states so 17,000 may be the best he can do . Good luck though!!!

well right, 19.5 - 2.5 is 17, but he's gonna try to get an armed services discount after he talks to his parents about it

He's "pretty sure" his parents will go for it, but not sure they want him to have a loan. He wants an MR2 turbo 91 btw. I told him not to buy a piece of s*** that's gonna break down on him a bunch... But he still doesnt belive me. he thinks fast is fast, no matter the cost. I disagree.

Hopefully he'll find this post, as i told him to, maybe not.

holy crap another flower mound peep, i used to live in flower mound and im moving back there in may, i went looking for msp's in dallas and best deal i coudl get was $18,500 for the yellow hail damaged one at freeman (but they sure as hell wanted my mp3) im going to try calling eldorado mazda tommorow and see if i can get anythign out fo them over the phone i'll let you know what i find out.

i have a friend with a 91 MR2 turbo and his isn't doing to bad, he did blow the turbo a fewmonths back and he rebuilt the engine completely (356rwhp).

You'll have to hit me up when you move back, I'll be through my break in period on my MINI by then, ha ha ha. Oh and village and freeman were assholes to me when i called them about a year ago. They told me "mile long waiting list, dont bother, you wont get one of these limited production car, we dont have any on the lot" and i drove by...they had 4. 3 orange and 1 black mica.

bastards. I'd call el dorado, they have a titanium gray one in stock, that color is BITCHIN.

BTW my friend is bein an ass and now says "170 hp fwd isnt enough" and i called him on his bulls***, but whatever, i dont mind whoopin him everytime we race.

I gotta get one of my friends to buy one though, cuz i wanna hvae access to it all the time , seeing as i cant afford both the mini and the MSP at the moment. And seeing as i have a 1k$ non refundable deposit on the MINI, i cant really back out of it so fast...

They say the car is "too fast," so i started harping on crash tests, although i dont know about any ofthem for the msp, i just assume theyre better than 4 star....hoping anyways


we'll see how this works out.
