Buying a new car, but which one?

Hello,

I am planning to buy a new car and am stuck between these two:

2005 Mazda 3 SP23 Sedan, 63,380 miles, $9,990 dealer price
2007 Mazda 3 s Hatch, 65,408 miles, $10,770 dealer price

Both are loaded with leather seats, etc. If I had to make the choice between strictly the sedan vs. hatch, I probably would choose the hatch. But my question is what car do you feel is more reliable or a better deal (before trying to bring the dealer down)? Also, I'm 19 and the insurance for the '07 is roughly $200 more every 6 months (still trying to find cheaper insurance as I feel I'm getting ripped off there).

Something I'm also interested in is a 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero for $10,447, however, it has $86k miles. I really like Saab's and specifically this one... but I feel keeping it running for the long-haul may be expensive.

Check KBB and see what they list for Private Party and Dealers. Use that to negotiate price.

Between the two, I'd prefer the hatch. I think the hatch was refreshed in 07'.

Yeah I went to check out the hatch earlier today and really liked it. Put a deposit on it

I'm getting it for $10.2k if they fix this dent, otherwise I will go lower.

Good choice. Around here, the hatchback is more popular/sought after. Plus, it's more versatile.

Go for the hatch... It is 2 years newer, and a hatch!
