But I Don't want to....

....take my summer tires off

s*** man, i just a wheel aligment, new struts and stuff. Car feels great. And we just got 20 cm of snow last night. But oh man, I forget how much of a death trap this car is with the dunlops on. I live on a slight hill now to. I almost never got home last night.

Was driving around in a friends civic with stock all seasons on with NO trouble. Then got in mine to take her home....and Oh MY f'n God how horrible can a car be in snow. I could start off but just barely, I couldn't turn once I was going, and any type of hill she couldn't go up. There was actaully one point where i was spinning trying to get up a hill, and I stopped.....and she actually started to slide backwards with the brakes on. And it wasn't even that slippery out. 20 cm of snow is nothing.

Oh well, guess I should get the steelies out...yuck!

But guys, don't screw around with this car in snow. If you don't get much snow...fine, don't worry. But, I;m not bragging here or anything, but I'd take a guess and say I could drive circles around most people in the snow as I have driven in REAL snow since I've been 17....28 now. I'm not taking about that slushy s*** you get in the states, I'm taking REAL snow....higher then your car snow. Heck I was driving before I was 17 really...but don't tell anyone. Anyhow, I love driving in snow...fun as hell to screw around in. I've had pretty much all preludes, and accord coupes over the years, and with thier stock tires on.....no problem in anything but really heavy snow, at least until the real snow comes in January. But this Car....is a death trap with the Dunlops, and it worries even me to drive it....and I'll drive in anything ( with any other car that is ).

Guy, your scaring me. This is the first winter I have ever drove. Luckly Im in Toronto where we dont get much snow, but we will get 20 cm now and then. I really have to hurry up and get those winter tires. It seems that the first snowfall here is always unexpected.

Snowed here in Winnipeg today too....will be putting my winter steelies on tonight. It's definitely an experience to drive on snow with the Dunlops...good way to scare yourself!

I've driven the p5's in the winter time with stock tires. Their not that bad at all. Winters wouldn't hurt of course, but the p5 is nowhere near as bad as the mp3 in snow.

Z-rated tires = a big NO NO for snow.

oh, and I have 14's on her in the winter. 185/70's. Yes, i said 70's. These tires aren't the typical 70's, they are more like 65's. I had bought some tires the last year I had the civic. When I traded it in for the mp3, I just bought some 14' rims. trying to to find the right offset wasn't easy around here though.
