Burning oil smell in sport mode?

:
Mazda CX 5 Touring
Hi, was seeing if anyone else have this. I did a lot of highway driving but over two years it mainly been city. Let's say 80 % city, would take 8 months to even hit 7,000 miles.

Recently on highway when I hit "sport mode" for the boost, I do smell a oil burning. Was wondering if anyone else have that issue. CX-9 is a 2016, I do hope it isn't part of the engine block issue. Going stop using sport mode for now...

Sometimes that smell is from oil that is on the engine and gets to the exhaust manifold. It could have been spilled during an oil change. Sport mode on the highway probably gets the engine hotter than your usual drive.
Sometimes the belts on an engine might smell, too.

OK ill check, I do my own oil change. So I'll look around. Good time to engine clean my car

Update, smell get produce when I hit 3.5-4.2k on rpm sport mode. Odd thing is smell is super strong, even when my cabin air circulation mode is on. Smell almost smell like when mode is off, and someone with diesel or other fumes dust cloud drives in front of you.

I'm guessing it something that attach to this. Going to have to dig around, not many documents or video.

Check this hose, circled in red. That hose is connected to the oil separator, sometimes also called the PCV valve. As @N7turbo suggested, check to see if it's loose or if it has cracks/holes. It's located at the front of the engine, driver's side. In this picture, the engine cover is removed.

Maybe also check the oil control valve (OCV) on the top of the engine, passenger side. Some seepage is common, but it may be seeping or leaking more under load, then dripping onto a hot surface.

Also, keep an eye on your engine oil level just in case.
