Bumper Holes/License Plate Bracket

That IS ugly, I'd honestly be contacting the bbb or something along those lines and report that dealer. It's s*** like that that makes people think Mazda is cheap. Seriously they might not be a body shop, but they have mechanics and I'm sure the morons there have SOME experience with body work, that's just plain lazy.

I agree, their paint guy was simply lazy. The problem is TX is a two-plate state so if I went to the BBB Mazda would come back with some BS about me trying to purposely break the law/etc.

I'm probably going to just cut my losses, write my experience up, and share it with other people.

It would have been easier for them just to say no at this point and I would have plugged them myself.

Anyone know the touchup paint code for the bumper insert?

drill them with a 1/4" drill and buy the bumper plugs.

That's the plan but I don't see a color match on their site. On my car the center area of the bumper is a grey color and I need to find the color code to get a match. I have plugs that will work perfectly just need to spray/clear them.

Sorry to hear the dealer effed you with that. I can't believe someone actually thought that looked great.

I just ordered some touchup paint from mazdaparts.org - should arrive tomorrow, I'll let you know if it's a good match.

not sure how much you paid, but i got a set of 'locking hole plugs' from home depot, sanded and painted them for all of about $.78. already had the touchup paint and the plugs are like $.38 a piece. found them in a specialty drawer in the nail/screw aisle. sorry no pic right now, but search and others have done it.

I think you could have given my 3 year old daughter some crayons and she could have done a better job with filling those holes.

My sentiments exactly. I'm drilling/plugging them but I need to find the paint code for the grey bumper insert on my car. Anyone... Anyone.. Bueller?

Do you have a picture of it completed? I have the same plugs from a local store (in two different sizes just in case). What color MS3 do you have?

The confusing part is the color(s) of your mazda. Aren't they one color? Is it black or gray?

The dealerships add their own front plate brackets, that is their prep department, they could have avoided it if your car was ordered and they actually took care of it when it came in. You can get a new bumper but doubt it will ever look the same repainted and matching the micah. When you get your survey from mazda make sure you are honest about the dealership and service. Also, make sure you do not use them for service any more, take it to another dealership!

Well I asked them not to do the dealer prep and the salesman said ok but when I picked the car up (which had 100mi on it too which pissed me off) it was drilled with the bracket.

I called another Mazda to do service (my car is making a weird sound when I let the E-brake down and when I drive I hear like a faint metal sound which sounds like the turbo spinning idle but I want to be sure it' not a problem) so I will not be returning to Russell and Smith Mazda in Houston.

The mess continues. I contacted the dealership/sales guy to see if they had the touch-up paint available for sale for my bumper insert/grille. According to the dealer they don't, only the main body color. He said I can buy a replacement grille for 80$ with his employee discount.

It pisses me off that I'd have to pay 80$ for the dealer's f*ck-up but at this point I just want a clean ride and am tired of going back and forth with these idiots.

What do you guys think?

Roshambo with the salesman with the loser buying the part. Make sure you go first and wear steel toes.

I would offer the insert from my car but I am not sure when we will be getting the new front bumper painted and installed. It could be a while.
