Built In Boost Gauge???

Ok, I don't know if this is practical or even possible, but maybe someone with some programming knowledge might be able to do this.

The Speed3 has two built in trip odometers. Could one of these be reprogrammed to function as the display for a boost gauge?

I wouldnt think so just because its reading a different sensor (mileage), if it was to read the boost pressure and display it in a digital read out it would need a sensor to tell it what its at. Thats my guess atleast

I don't think going through the odometer would be the best way to do it. Plus messing with the OD is a sure fire way to void the warrenty no questions asked.

The LCD that displays time/trip/ac/hu readouts would be a more practical approach. I don't know enough about circuit boards and wiring to even start a project like this, but I can sort of see how it would work.

Then again I may be completely off my rocker and this would never work, but I have seen some stranger mods in my day :)

with enough time and patience/money im sure you can do it but wether it would be worth it in the end is a completely other story

Possible? Yes, like most anything.
Practical? Probably not.
Good idea? No, Not so much.

Possible? Absolutely
Practical? It would take sooooooo much time. Basically you would need one of the electrical engineers from Mazda that designed the electrical system to do it for you.
Good Idea? If you have someone willing to do it for free, and pay for all your repairs when it voids your warranty, GO FOR IT!
