Broken CorkSport Rear Torsion Bar :(

Well, at least I tracked down one of the mystery rattles from under my car... at first I just thought it had come loose, but after checking torque was indeed still tight I could feel the bar moving around and noticed it was cracked right through at the weld! Cracked half way around the other side too. Bummer because I really enjoyed having this thing on the 2. Maybe chromoly would be better?

I wonder what would be involved to swap in a Fiesta ST rear beam? I'm not sure the RacingBeat will hold up much better, those u-bolts don't give me a ton of confidence.

From the outside those welds look good. looking at the open crack there is definitely contamination and inadequate penetration.

Got the new one installed and old broken one sent back to CS yesterday. I sure hope it was a defective weld and my new one holds up -- it really does make a difference! From driving around for a week without it I thought I didn't notice any difference, but probably because it had been broken for so long!

We changed the process which the bars are welded up a while back so you should be trouble free.

I checked my bar and it is still perfect, even after a trip to the hardware store The guy at Home Depot couldn't understand how I did fit all these bags of seeds, fertilizers and grass dirt in the Mazda2 lol I told him no need for a truck when you got a Mazda2!

I'll order more stuff in July, SRI/Ram air box/ shifter plate from you guys.

Any plans of offering replacement performance front brake rotors in the future?

I think I may have broken mine last night. Heard a big pop/bang last night while cornering hard in the canyons, and after that the car was noticeably more understeery. I need to get the car in the air and investigate but I don't see anything else it could've been, I'll post again if it turns out to have been the bar.
