I can totally understand why you're worrying about things now. Sorry you can't just enjoy your car.
When I drive with the window down I can hear a definite clunk when I put her in 2nd. Sometimes there's a little different kind of noise when she goes from 3rd to 4th. I have heard that it's "normal". I usually just turn up the stereo and I'm good to go.
If it gets worse though I will be having it checked out.

There is some after market replacements out. Check the how to forums there is info in there.
As far as clunking I haven't heard noir felt any in my MS3.

There's an aftermarket for the rear motor mount. I haven't seen anything about the two top mounts (driver and passenger side). It was the driver's side top mount that broke on me the first time.

Like I've said, I learned to drive stick on a Ford truck - that thing made all sorts of noises, so when I first heard some noise, I just thought it was normal wear and tear...

I think maybe I'm over-reacting to the clunks because of the engine-drop.

You're right, I wouldn't make up problems about my car. Like I've said, I WANT to love the car.

Please, anyone who's making upgraded motormounts (besides the AWR rear mount) let me know. I'll be installing brand new mounts immediately post-warranty.

The only other problem I've had with the car was the ubiquitous 'P2006' defective manifold switch issue.

You know why I ask? Because out of the several forums I read on a regular basis, you or the most anti-MS3 person i have ever seen to this date. From the I hate my MS3 thread on down the line, nothing but complaints. So I have to ask is it because you really hate mazda your car or what? I dont think the person who posted pictures of his engine falling out was as bitter as you are. If you dont like the car move on to something else.

When I buy a brand new car, my expectations are that it won't have significant problems this early on. I think that's a reasonable expectation. I was annoyed enough when the manifold switch was defective. I'm really pissed that the engine fell out. Go figure. You really think that this is an unusual reaction?

Nondual, if this all happened to me, I would be bitter and get the dealer to buy back my car. I would then buy a beater and save up some money until I can get the new EvoX!

EvoX is coming early 2008! Too bad I needed a car now, but the MS3 is my favorite car by far! But for nostalgia's sake, I still like my old 1987 Supra better lol.
