Hey guys. THe car that I bought came with a new kind of bra...it is a magnetic one that looks pretty tight. I would post a pic but i don't have a digital camera....yes i know what year it is....my big question is, I am a snowboarder and will obviously be using this car to go up to the mountains. I will no doubt encounter flying debris on the road way and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a bra that would fit across and protect the whole front of my car? Her measurements are 4 feet by 2 feet. Pretty good eh? (wow) Thanks for any help.

Personally, I really like the factory mazda one. (see pic.)
Once you figure out how to get it on the first time, it goes on and comes off
real quick & easy for cleaning and what not. I got it for pretty much the same
reason. I saw one too many rock chips in my hood (one) and decided I needed
some protection. Very form fitting to the front end and it looks soo sexy.

no, pretty much just use ArmorAll cleaner then protectant. Gets the bugs
off, and leaves it nice and shiny. I take it off when I wash my car. Inside of
it is cloth, and I really dont want mildoo (sp?), mold, or anything growing
between it and my paint.

damn im a sick pup. I wasnt thinking this kind of thread when i opened it lol.

Thanks pesty...that is exactly what I was looking for. I was just wondering how much you paid for yours and where you think I could get one? Thanks again. (rockon)

I think mazda's list price is like $115. Ive seen em online for like $95, but when
I got mine at the dealership aparently there was something wrong with the pricing
in the computer and I got it for around $88 after 8.25% sales tax.

call or write richard @ mazdastuff.com. he can get you a good deal on noe.

I got one when I bought my car. The day I waxed my car and put it on, some idiot hit me and ruined it. I got a new bra from mazda through my insurance company but have not put it on due to the fear of being hit again. (nervous) I have also heard that they can damage your paint. I know there are several forums on this, what do you guys think? Are they worth it???

Those things ruin paint.

I was looking at an MR2 a few years back and one of the guys selling points was "Original Toyota MR2 Factory Bra with Logo embroidery" The bra was in great shape. But I made him take it off when I was looking at the car. It looked like somebody had taken an orbital sander to the paint. He told me he had it on there for like 2 years and hadnt taken it off.

Plus they're ugly...

**no offense to anyone here who might have/like them.**

the reason why it looked like someone took an orbital sander to the car was
because he never took it off in 2 years. If sand or dust get under there and
it gets moved around it will scratch the paint. That's one of the reasons I take
it off when I wash my car (at the very least once every week to two weeks).

As far as the look, to each his own. I didn't think I'd like it when I bought it,
but the cardboard box that flew out from under the car in front of me on my
way down the Dallas North Tollway convinced me I needed it. Now that I have
it on, I actually think it looks pretty good.

Oh, and one more thing to note on the Mazda factory bra. According to the
dealership that I bought it from, it IS covered under the Mfg. warranty for your
car.

I have also heard of some people putting some 3M transparenet tape on the hood underneath the bra if they do not plan on removing it.

that reminds me...

when I was researching bras, I came across a company that was selling
completely transparent bras for P3's/P5's. From the pictures, you can't even
tell that it's there. Install looked like a pain though, went on kinda like tint, so
you had to use a squeegee and what not. For the top end kit they actually
recomend having it installed by pros, so I decided to just go with something
that I could get cheaper and put on/take off myself.

Pesty...I actually have something very similar to that right now. It is a magnetic bra. I had to use a squegee (sp) type thing to put it on. to get out all the air bubbles..you know. It looks tight and I wish I could post pictures but not yet. Camera coming soon. Just realized that it doesn't save my scoop.

Also if you only need it when your moutain driving, so its all good, you just remove when not on the moutain and keep it on when your there, you protection when you need it and the option to remove it when ever you want, I agree it shouldnt be a prob, if you do that, but like he was saying, if you keep it on there for years at a time, Scratches are inevidable
