You can see the slight space between the boot and knob about 1/4 inch, anyone know how to fix that?

yeah, but it covers the gap... and it says MOMO on it... i mean s***, you just spent $60 on a knob, why not spend another $60 on the boot...

get some washers that fit on the shifter and palce them on the shifter under the boot to raise the boot up.

CAPSLOCK != GOOD.
BEING AN ASS != GOOD.

I'd imagine you're one of the people who pay $15 for a pair of "Oakleys" too aren't ya?

I bought the MOMO gate finisher. It will screw to the shifter and then with a little mod it will go into the factory boot.

also you can remove that 4-5 inch spacer that is on top of the factory shifter like i did and it is sweet not only does is shorted the shifter shorter then a MSP but the boot fits up to the shifter much better

Nice shift knob, my shift knob looks exactly the same and only paid $10 for it at Advanced Auto Parts. Its true (not MOMO) but basically you just paid for the name. Mine has the center in carbon fiber, 6 or 7 polished screws on top,leather,and the metal part is the exact color of the part surounding the radio. For me it looks the same just without the (MOMO) brand. Mine is made by Pilot Motorsports.

Yes its true , but I dont think the quality of construction is the same on the pilot as the MOMO. It can't be, and the weight of it , it just feels really solidly made.

quite easy

How do you remove that piece?

I borrowed a friends hand held propane torch (walmart $20.00 ) and removed the factory shift knob, leather boot and cup holder. Just watched myself with the flame and heated the piece (adapter) up untill it started burning the rubber adhesive that is inside it, holding it on there.... and with a pair of vice- grips or plyers I gripped it and turned it side to side back and forth and after about 2 mins of that (but not continous heating) it popped right off and i then peeled of fthe rest of the bad rubber residue and cleaned her up and poof ready to place on your new aftermarket knob .. you could even rethread that shorter rod if you wanted to but i chose not to ..here is a pict of the adapter peice and better finished shots
