Brake Kit (for those who want one)

I emailed Presision Brake Company and asked about brake recommend dations from them. My requirements were AutoX twice a month for about 6 or 7 months (can't do it all year around here in MO) daily driving and back road driving. this is an email i got back from them about the big brake kit they have. He said they could do something cheaper to fit a persons requirements but wont be as HIGH quaility. Also you would need at least the 17's to run these brakes.

Should you wish to upgrade the pads, there would be a slight additional charge, but the pads included in this kit should be more than adequate. Shipping and handling are in addition to the kit price. This economical kit utilizes our own 325 mm x 22 mm rotor. The attractive zinc plated rotor is curved vane vented, cross drilled and slotted. This combination is ideal for most high performance street vehicles and lighter race cars with a minimum rim diameter of 17". The Billet Dynalite caliper features quick change pads available in a wide variety of compounds making it ideal for street use and easily convertible for track days. It's light weight and extreme rigidity make it an excellent all round performer.

A typical installation weighs around 20 lbs per front wheel, about the same as the standard 9.5" diameter single piston factory brake assembly of the Honda Civic for example.

Options include pads for your particular application and powder coated calipers to meet your color preference.

JI definetely want a big brake kit, but since the turbo has drained me dry, it won't be until late next year probably.

It looks like this kit simply replaces the front end and not the back??

Why do companies not make the back brakes to go in line with the big fronts??

Four wheel disk brakes were made for a reason, doesn't it make sense that a big brake kit would utilize all four wheels? I think you risk throwing off the balance of the car if you have disproportionate stopping power at one end of the car versus the other.

Granted, locking up the fronts is somtimes safer as it will cause understeer, but I think a balanced brake upgrade is wiser than just throwing big rotors on the front.

I don't know, I think I am just ranting...Not your guy's fault, not the brake companies neither. I'll get off my soap box now.
