Brake grinding noise

Hi All,

My Dec 2009 build CX9 (facelift version) just went in for its 10000km service, for a while now I have been hearing a grinding noise when applying the brakes pulling into my driveway. Its only really noticable when braking while the car is going quite slow.

I mentioned this to the service tech.

When I picked it up they said that they confirmed that there is a noise and they looked up the "Mazda Computer" and discovered that there is a fix for it (must be a known fault). It requires a new "revised guide plate" which they will be ordering in for me.

Has anyone else heard of this - I can't seem to find any TSB about it, but have not looked too hard.

Cheers

Interesting. I thought that TSB was for '07 and '08 models.
Your service advisor could be wrong.
I had mine changed, the noise was greatly reduced on my '08.

I will get him to double check when I call him to arrange a date/time to get it done !

They do say that we are a little "behind the times" Down Under in Australia - LOL

Does it cause excessive wear on the discs / pads if I leave it a few weeks / months ?

Cheers

Seriously,
no. It just makes noise when the brake has moisture on it and is cold.
It usually happens on first drive in the morining.
