FIRST. what part of florida you in? SECOND... for our cars, u want a BPV. order from PG and get the HKS kit. which comes with the flange an recirculation adapter. and if u want, just block ur recirc hose with a champagne cork or something. and run it on VTA. just so you can get the cool sound. but, if not you can change it back and forth... thats the beauty of the HKS. if you choose to run it on VTA you'll have some jerky shifts and back fires here and there but if you dont mind that for the sound then go for it. i have an hks, its on VTA cause of a bad hose kinking problem and it sounds good but gets annoying after while... not to mention all the attention it gets from ricer fan boys here in good ole' FLA. but if you plan on getting a BPV and running ur car on recirculation like it should be... just get a forged man. the HKS is pretty quiet when on recirculation and it is quite a bit cheaper than the HKS too.

Im from tampa i want the sound but not if its gunna damage the car

VTA=super rich fuel mixture=backfire, misfire, ECU retune to try to compensate=reduced power.

Super rich fuel mixture=wash down of cylinder walls with unburned fuel=fuel getting past the rings and into the oil pan=contamination of oil.

Fuel contaminated oil=poor lubrication=early engine failure.

Enjoy the sound while it lasts.

These engines need recirc mode.

Just one opinion.

thanks for the help thats what i wanted to know so im gunna go with forge

vta causes a slight loss in hp in any car, the benefits of recirc can be seen as u increase hp through mods....i laugh when i hear vta on the road lol

u can go with the hks still in recirc mode. its not as loud in recirc, but i like the sound of it more then my forges sound

I'm surprised everyone neglects to mention the Turbosmart BPV that came out a few months ago. Works just as well as the Forge with minimal added noise. I'm not a fan of VTA myself - sounds cool but gets annoying as hell pretty fast.

If my stocker ever starts leaking, the Turbosmart BPV would be high on my list.

BTW: The stock BPV does make a nice mild but noticable "ffft" sort of sound during upshifts that you can hear if you have an aftermarket intake. That's enough for me to let me know it's doing its job when it's supposed to.

you could go with the turbosmart dual port and get the best of both worlds. there's lots of options really. this topic has been thoroughly covered.

Forge BPV FTW

QFE. I run a Forge with a Cobb SRI. If you want the "whoosh," the Forge will make all the noise you need once you slap a CAI/SRI on there.

Also, I live near Tampa & work in Temple Terrace. I'd be happy to meet up & let you hear the Forge before you make a decision. PM me if you like. Just keep in mind- I'm an old fart, and nobody you'll want to hang out with. You may be embarrassed to be seen near me. Feel free to come dressed as The Unknown Comic if you like. (Google that if you're too young to get the reference)
