BPV/BOV replacement help

BOOSTR

1 OWNR MSP
Thinking about adding a Turbo XS type H 34 BPV or type H RFL BOV to my MSP. Will either one work with the stock intercooler piping? Anybody install one on their MSP?

Also adding Turbo XS DSBC and a custom down pipe. Mine has been flashed and it has an Injen CAI.

dont get the 34.. ITS HUGE... when I bought my H 25 they shipped me the H34 on accident... its WAY to big... BTW, dont get the BPV. I sold mine. its actually quieter than stock.

Okay on the Type H 34. Did anyone install the Type H RFL, and if so, does it work with our stock piping? Thanks.

Just adding my 2 cents here... I have the H25 on mine. No clue if it helped the surge or not yet (still have the stock airbox), but the boost on my guage seems to drop faster and re-spool quicker between gears. I dunno, could be the placebo effect.

Surge? Do you mean the "turkey" or some other problem with swapping out the stock BPV. If you mean the turkey, that comes with the car, the Injen just amplifies it. I took my CAI off before the flash and could hear the "muffled" turkey! I just want the car to hold the boost...I've heard that the stock BPV is not reliable above the 6.9 factory psi. Thanks.

i dont honestly know but i hear its a good one from the members here, maybe someone else can jump in and tell ya, but still get rid of the factory one and get a nice lookin one, **** it if you got the money go for it.

Don't wory about the "surge" There is no possible way a t25 will surge at these low boost levels. No bypass valve is silent. Shoot even in my SVT I hear the bypass valve release.

So, lets forget about surge/turkeys and get back to the issue at hand. Installation of a TurboXS BPV or BOV. The sound of the unit is not as important as it holding boost upon gear changing! At least not to me. Thats cool if you are in to the "woosh".

Ok, well as far as my boost guage shows, my Turbo XS H25 BPV, does not leak. I installed it using 1" heatercore hose a 1" PVC 90* and some worm gear clamps. It's not pretty, but it works for right now. When I take the car back out of the garage in better weather, I'll fix it up nice.

Thanks Glowmunkey. TXS says that the H25 is a direct replacement? Guess you found that not to be the case. At this point, I will keep the stock one and just install the MBC and custom exhaust piping.

I think it could be, but I did not want to cut the original tubing, or break the clamps holding in the stock BPV. With a little manuevering it could fit in there, but keep in the mind the stock BPV has the inlet and outlet 180* from each other, the Turbo XS one has them 90* apart.

I did my install so that I can put the stock BPV back in about 5 minutes.

If youre looking to replace the stock BPV with another BPV that doesnt leak, look into the forge diverter valves. Theyre great at holding boost, and are designed just like the stock BPV, for an almost direct replacement.
I remember a thread where one member was working with forge in florida, and they were designing something, and had one of their diverters installed on his car.

The TurboXS will work, but its gonna be ugly. :D
