Bov

Hey man..... Im pretty sure with the Hks ssq you can have it run either way...or I know they have a specific one for one way or the other....Theres something out there I heard you can select which way to go and any where in between..... I would check on HKSs website for exact specs though...I read it somewhere it could just be hear say. I figured I would reply quick for now

Borderline here is 2 small video (made yesterday) of my HKS bov in recirc.
note that I also have a short ram (for winter) this add sound as well:

Hard to tell with the other noises goin on but Ive got the Idea, sounds cool, so you made an intake? It sounds rumblier, which is good :) As for the BOV did you make a custom flange or???? I was thinking about getting the speed6 HKS but the flange looks different to me....PLease respond Im eager to know! And in the other video what were you going about a 120? lol I Like. Gotta do it everyday!!! ive went upto 140.....It feels pretty stable

Yeah, we don't hear pretty well, Maybe with the camera inside the engine bay while driving, that would be better :)
Yes I made the flange and the intake myself. Intake is in aluminium, (these pictures were taken BEFORE my hks BOV):

And I don't remember about the speed on the 1st video buy it was not as fast, maybe 90-95...

the MS3 is very stable at any speed, I really love that pocket rocket! :)

i saw a video on you tube about a new type of blwo off valve thats supposed to be super responsive ( synchronic ) i heard it was made by synapse engineering and they won a award at sema for best new product for their wastegate. i was going to order hks but they compared agaisnt this one and the synchronic releases alot faster. check it out synapseengineering.com or try to find on you tube the guy has it on s2000 turbo he works for tha company it comes out in jan 07'

i was looking at my hood today and it has a slot of air that leads to the battery thought it was wierd.. gona look at it again during the day, my car got fast or i got better because second doesnt burn out as much n i accelerate alot faster than when i first bought. (First turbo and manual car so i guess its just me)

Good Pics
I found a couple flanges available now.. I was thinking of putting an extra cone I have on the end of it to free it up...similar to how you did... I liked how yours sounded in the video....Good old fashion DYI Modding....you could make an airbox out of tin sheeting for the filter too, not sure where the free air would come from for the box though......Maybe ill do that tomorrow!

Im giong to screw around today with the intake..... If you have a cone filter You could probably swap that for the stock air box, which is what I am going to see how that works out today. Im assuming it will sound rumblier with the cone filter on, which is how it seemed in the videos for the guy above. And they dont have a KN stock air box filter out yet, and the speed6s doesent fit.

the hks can be used either way. ive never had any problem with it on my ms6! youre car is probly a fluke.

Holy Dead Thread! You do realize you have responded to a thread that ENDED FOUR YEARS AGO! My guess is that those guys probably don't even own the same cars now. Come on, please look at the dates on these things before responding. There are tons of newer threads here regarding this particular BOV.

um holy cow! i can read i know its from awhile a go! ive just had experience with the car and this bov so i will leave info so others will know about it. isnt that the whole point of the FORUM! the greatest advise think about the bigger picture before you type and try to make some 1 look stupid. and if it hasnt been tain of my a MOD its not a dead thread. Lawyered!

I apologize if I offended you, but I'm having difficulty seeing how reviving this old thread is helpful. Your information is discussed in the "Sticky" at the beginning of this section, including specifically the SSQV valve being run in either recirc or VTA.

It's also discussed in many, many other threads here.

Maybe just "Google" the phrase "mazdas247 ssqv recirc" and see how many threads in this foum come up, including one started in 2010.

You could have added to that one, although it would be just another +1. I'm not trying to be difficult or make you look any particular way. Yes, the point of the forum is to provide advice. It adds very little, however, to activate a four year old dead thread to make a comment that has been made by numerous others in far more recent threads. But that's just my opinion. I mean no offense. But, come on, really . . . maybe search for a current thread first?

On many boards it is a rules violation and points assessment to post on a thread that has had no activity in more than 30 days. We don't have that rule, but there is a valid reason for having such rules. FOUR YEARS, yikes.
