I have a question but don't look down on me for asking it :). I have a Type H RFL BOV on the car and recently put on an alteredcustoms FMIC and piping kit. After installing the piping and relocating the BOV and MAF I am getting a different noise from the BOV. I went from a psh to the turkey. Is there any way to get it back to the psh because I am not a HUGE fan of the turkey. An explanation on why it changed would be awesome too so that I understand. Thanks

Aside from just not being a huge fan of the turkey, it's also bad for your turbo. You should definitely try to fix it as soon as you get a chance.

Did the sound change after the installing the FMIC or what? I'm guessing that the turkey is a result of either a poor vacuum source, or the BOV spring is set too hard (if adjustable). I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's a poor vacuum source before anything else though, make sure you draw vacuum for the BOV somewhere right off the intake manifold. And make sure the line is on all the way on the BOV as well.

Yea I really think the vacuum lines are a problem, because not only has the BOV been different the car has been sluggish. We did a poor job with the vacuums after we unplugged the lines from the Unichip. We did this because the car was sluggish, but it has been worse since we routed them off the unichip. We are going to get new lines and reroute them tomorrow. And yes the sound changed after installing the pipes and the FMIC.

Two things are happening here, like you said the lines need to be routed properly. Also when you switch to anything that has better flow with our recirculating bovs they aren't big enough for all the air going through so upgrade that if your still running it. If not then adjust your spring on your bov too and make sure its in the right place. Are you still running the MAF?

yes we are still running the MAF, and I have no idea how to adjust the spring on the BOV. How is this done?

I believe with the RFL bov there are washers that are placed inside the bov. You can add washers for lower boost, this will let the bov go off sooner than if you were running a huge amount of boost since it won't take that much to get it to vent. I had mine set at 3-4 washers at 12 psi on the GT28RS, so depending on the amount of boost, just see how many washers are inside there now and add one as needed to get the desired result.

So I will need to add more washers? I believe my boost is set between 7-8. I will reroute the lines tomorrow and hopefully figure out the washers and see if that fixes the problem. Thanks for the comments back :)

Their are some made with two spring combo and you take out one of the springs and that fix's the problem. I don't have a bov so Ive never messed with one :D

ok well after rerouting the vacuum lines I now get a nice loud sneeze from the BOV. :) Thanks all
