Borla CBE Owners

So I just purchased a Borla CBE for a 2008 MS3. However I am debating on canceling my order because I am worried about emissions. I was reading the installation instructions and I am just wondering if this CBE is an "easy" bolt on/off so I can throw my stock exhaust on for emissions. Hopefully someone out there can help me out. Thanks.

A catback won't affect emissions at all. Your catalytic converters are still in place. The stocker is not easy to put back on, but an exhaust shop would be able to do it if needed. You have to either cut it to remove it or drop the rear subframe on a lift.

A cat back shouldn't affect emissions at all. I have a Borla cat back on my RX-8 and it only changed the tone of the exhaust. With the name "cat back", you are only replacing the exhaust from the catalytic converters back. If you decide on a mid-pipe or hi-flow cat, that can affect emissions but I'm not positive how much it will affect it.

you know you bought a 2.5" cbe which is the same diameter as stock. if i were you i would cancel that order and get another cbe that is 3"

As everyone else said, it won't affect emissions and its not something that is easy to swap back and forth. I would look at the MSCBE as that is 3" I believe. Or, CP-E has a nice exhaust as well as Corksport.

Yeah I actually cancelled the order and I am just going to go with a TBE instead. Go big or go home. Thanks for the input.
