hey has anyone bored and stroked or ported thier 1.8 to a 2.0+? i have a friend who says i can add 35 to the wheels by doing this, want to see if anyone else has done it.

Mmm... 35 to the wheels? That's pretty unlikely.

If I'm correct, the largest the 1.8/2.0 has reached, capacity-wise, is 2.1L. I'm shooting for 2.2 - 2.3 (2.26) with my new block, seeing if I can overbore by 2mm.

All that has to be done to stroke the FP-DE up to a 2.0L is to replace the crank with the FS crank, and the rods/pistons accordingly. That'll give you the 92mm stroke of the FS.

Stock FS Specs:
83 bore, 92 stroke (mm) - 2.0L

Stock FP Specs:
83 bore, 85 stroke (mm) - 1.8L

Overbored (2mm) FP Specs:
85 bore, 85 stroke (mm) - 1.93L

Overbored (2mm) FS Specs:
85 bore, 92 stroke (mm) - 2.26L

And bringing it up to 2.0L won't give you 35hp, perse... The 2.0, stock, only makes 130, and that's assuming your EMS (Or lack thereof) can handle adjusting to the higher displacement and longer stroke... I'd say, if you stroke it, maybe 10ish whp. Not much more than that. But it certainly wouldn't hurt, if you have the means to do it. =)

2mm wow

Thats good info on the specs for boring out your block. i only went 20 over .5mm, how much did i gain? On a FP 1.8
Your talking about going 80 over thats alot, i dont think its worth it unless you have the block sleaved. I think you can get alot of power with a 1.8 look at the honda they put out big numbers in the GSRs. When i get my new turbo i'll be taking it to the Dyno and get tuned i'll post the results.

Yea boy (dance)drop it like its hot.

Yeah I bored over and all I got was an FS-DE

Joking.

I bored 1MM on my 2.0L over I don't think I really made any more power. Just impresses people when I tell them. Sometimes at least.
