Boosting an auto p5?

I know but i was just curious the response will be why waste your time but it might make a good topic. Just wondering even with boosting lets say 5to7 pounds, would a auto tranny hold in the p5's of course i would go with the basic pistons and rods etc.. but this is for the future my days with that fast life are put away for awhile but it might make it alittle more fun2 drive. This is a topic of interest to me so plz feel free 2 comment thx.

Pistons and rods are not "basic", it is part of an engine build, which is a lot of money and not needed with 5 to 7 pounds of boost.

You have to rip out the entire engine. If you can't do it yourself, prepare for a huge huge bill.

A budget kit (MAM) will do well for you as it is all you really need since you can't upgrade to more power (without breaking stuff).

i apologize did not mean in that way with the pistons and rods. I meant not going with a full build just a partial but i know that auto tranny's wont really let you upgrade in power but i wont be looking for that much power, but i wont rush into anything. I was just looking into see what the mazda xperts thought since im coming from the honda family.

I need new rods and I'm not even turbo'd. I got a rod nock on a N/A motor.

Our stock rods are weak.

if you plan on going above 7psi you will need to have your trans built by someone like lentech as well as the engine. anything below that with a tranny cooler should not kill an auto transmission on this car nor would you really need an engine build.

Well, you might as well get a turbo now brother....(you know you want one, you know you do).

sorry i dont know anything, but why cant you get any more power out of the auto the tranny cant handle it or what?

The automatic transmission in a Protege had a reputation for going zoom zoom boom when a lot of horse power is given to it. Its just not designed to accept a lot of power or so I've been told.

It dont matter if it holds 1,000,000 hp and has a hyper intelligent sentient being inside that decides exactly the best time to shift in all possible scenarios.

Its still an autotragic.

Some think that with a great auto tranny (and 500 whp) , 10s are a possibility.

I'm thinking they're thinking of spending lots of money, then they wake up & the bank acct is empty & the dream was about a different car.
