lmao can someone retitle this thread "mazdaspeed 2003.5 build round 4"?
youll be fine with all youre looking at if you keep the boost low. if you want to be safe, keep it around 325 whp. the tranny starts having trouble a little north of 350whp from what i recall. but the LSD needs to be addressed immediately. get a new diff and have it welded immediately, or buy an mfactory. seriously, the LSD is trash, and as soon as you go north of 250whp you cant even reuse the one included with the car, because the metal gets pitted and the weld shears off.
I'd be careful of using HP #'s as markers for estimated failure times. My car at 15psi (gt25) took every tooth off of the stock 3rd gear... Not to mention the PAR gear debacle, which had it's own seperate issues.

hey hondaeat-r when you broke your tranny (the first time haha) what RPM were you at? and id figure 15psi on the 25 would put you at about... 225?whp
15psi on gt25 will put out around 240-250whp, with around 280-290 ftlb of torque.
maybe i misremember. that would probably be a "the GT25 spools and applies too much torque too quickly" issue. its entirely possible that im wrong - but id love to see a source on the 250whp barrier.
doesnt rich run stock engine/tranny internals aside from welding the diff and he was pushing 280 whp? the fact is as soon as you forge or upgrade your turbo you immediately move the "bottleneck" to the tranny. some people might shred them at 250, some at 350. but once you upgrade the turbo and engine its the tranny that sucks out.
