boost gauge question

Whats the difference between electronic and mechanical boost gauges? Someone told me mechanical is more accurate.

Electronic takes the report from the ECU, mechanical is connected directly to the line.

Electronic Boost Gauges use a sending unit to transmit pressure readings electronically to the gauge. Mechanical Boost gauges have a vacuum hose run directly to the gauge, and the vacuum/boost is read mechanically.

Modern day sending units are fairly reliable, and accurate, so a good electronic gauge might be more accurate, because the hose on a mechanical gauge can get bent, or pinched.

My hose to my sending unit is about 8" long, so there's little room for any hose bending/pinching., also running a wire to the dash is much easier than keeping a hose free of bends, or pinches.
