Hey. I just bought the oil psi gauge and boost/vac psi gauge from autometer. Anyone have these installed? I was just wondering if I need anything that did not come in the package. It looks like I might need to buy a fuse or something?? Anybody with them installed or who knows how to install, please help. Also, how long does it take to install these? I'm hoping to do it myself in my school autoclass with the help of the qualified teacher. Thanks for any help/input. I'll post pics after they're installed. Oh, I have a basic idea of mechanical stuff, so use some tech terms, but try not to get too technical.

it says this as a caution, with a litle arrow to the red wire hooked up to a +12v connection, that maintains power through cranking. ie the key. Here is the warning: As a safety precaution, the +12v terminal of this product should be fused before connecting to the 12v ignition switch. We recommend using a 1 Amp, 3AG fast-acting type cartridge fuse (Littlefuse # 312 001 or an equivalent) . This warning is for the igntion, not the light, as that is the white wire. What I mean for other stuff needed like silicon sealer, or any s*** like that.

You will need a 1/8" NPT to 1/8" BSP fitting, and a 1/8" NPT "T". You can find them at www.mcmaster.com

I surely hope you didn't get a mechanical oil gauge. :D

I already have all of the fittings, and no, I did not get the mechanical oil gauge. Here is what they came with. Electric Boost/Vac Gauge with 2-1/16" Electric gauge, Sender and universal T-fittings and instructions. Electric Oil Press. PSI, 2-1/16" Electric Gauge, 1/8"NPT Sender, 1/4"NPT fittings and instructions

You can't screw NPT fitting in to the BSP threads of the engine block.

You have a BSP/BPT fitting? It didn't come with the gauge, so you better br sure. The block is tapped BPT.

Here's what you will need.
HERE

Along with a 1/8" NPT "T"

BSP will screw into NPT, but NPT will not screw into BSP.

As for the install you will need a 24mm deep well socket, a short ratchet that it will fit on, and alot of patience. Also best to remove the oil filter when you do it, so it would be a good time for an oil change.

Yes, those 2 fittings are all you will need for the oil pressure install. Not sure about the boost gauge though. That's beyond my rhelm. :D

Ok, disregard last post by me, I will have all the tools needed. Is the 1/18"NPT"T" not included in the package? And how long do you think it will take to ship that piece?

Are you guys 100% sure I'll need these to install? I'm not meaning this in a bad way, but I kinda figured they'd have everything in the Pacakage, guesse not. Also, is this for the P5 the fitting you have, cause I don't know, maybe they're diff. for the MSP

Teflon tape will most likely not work. The tape is designed for low-temp applications. I used some High-temp silicone RTV sealant.

Yeah, it said not to use tape. So to sum it up, i need that 1/8" T and the BSPT fitting? UGH!!!!! More waiting for the mail. Damn it(pissed). Oh well, I guess it's better to wait a while and get everything done at once, rather than start, and halfway through wait for everything else to show up.
