boost cut...???

my friend just got a turboback exhaust put on his msp and since its been on when he tries to open it up it just hits boost cut. he has his ebc turned off(stock) and its spiking at around 1 bar although boost is supposed to be at stock. what do you think he could do to stop it from cutting out?

you think a mbc would work better for his car or is there something different he can do with his ebc that will help it out?

Figure out why it's spiking @ 1bar, then fix it. Your rods won't last too long.

Im am the one with the problem that my friend describe......and i have searched for fuel and i cant find anythin out about what i am talkin about.....
i jus got the perrin exhaust
i need to know why it is spikin....I know that with exhaust it should boost higher, but its only goin up to about 9 psi....
Could this be something wrong with the vacum lines that my AVC-R is hooked up to or is it somethin else.....
also i no kids are going up to about 12psi and noone has metions fuel cut...i hit fuel cut if i am acceleratin from about 2 1/2 grand up and it will actually cut at around 4 1/2....is there anythin i can do other then the fuel cut elim.

also does fuel cut happen less with the profec-b or a MBC?

thanx

i thought the avc-r didn't work with our cars...that might be causing the problem

Other than that i'm not sure why your spiking so high.

But as for the "fuel cut" goes people have hit it at stock boost with NO mods. I live in NJ too, its been cold as hell out so you will hit it....you need to get a fcd or some type of engine management that gets rid of it.

Fuel-cut/spark-cut is not soley dependent on boost levels. It is caused by too much airflow through the MAF sensor. In cold weather this happens much faster because of its density. That being said, no it doesn't matter if you have a mbc or ebc as fuel cut will happen regardless if you have too much airflow through the maf.

I would take the ebc out and run a direct vacuum line to the manifold, if this fixes the problem of spiking then you know thats the problem.

yea i no when its cold out you will hit it more often....

i have read that the fcd is bad for your car.....

all i really want it to be able to have 10psi constantly and withour fuel cut....

also is the greddy profec a lot better for our cars?

just having something on the vac line going to the wastegate will add to the spike. make sure you arent hitting 1 bar, your motor will not last long.

I am posting for mx3ownzj00, he is on my old computer which is messed up for some reason.

"Hookedup- The AVC-R works fine, you are thinking of the S-AFC.
Are you boosting 9psi or 1bar? Don't use a FCD, you'll kill your motor. The Profec isn't better for the car than the AVC-R, its just a boost controller. The AVC-R has more options and is a great unit. You need to remove the boost controller soleniod and run the wastegate line w/o any additional connections. If you're boosting way over w/o the BC your wastegate is fux."

Lucky Charms is my favorite cereal in case anybody was wondering.
