boost controller psi...

no it wont it will allow for consitstant boost through the gears, it will allow for boost spikes on hard shifts and downshifts, get a greddy profec spec b 2 boost controller, it will allow you to set a maximum boost and will correct as necessary for it, its well worth the money.
 
no no no i dont think you get it, im talking about how the ms3 is controlled to 10 psi thru 1 and 2 and then goes to 15 psi in 3-up. i wanna know if anyone has tried installing a manual boost controller to see if it will keep same boost levels in all gears.

it seems like it would be an ecu issue that would controll the change in boost from 2nd to 3rd gear, i wasnt aware that the ms3 had different boost levels at different gears, looks like you'll be one of the first to check it out

yeah im about 95% sure it wont do jack sh*t but whatever, 5 minutes and some fun beat runs and ill find out soon enough. if anyone knows, feel free to post. if not, ill find out by the end of the week.
 
I'm not sure but it seems it would turn up the boost in all gears like 12-13 in first and second and in turn 18-19 in higher gears.
 
No, an EBC controlls the boost output with intelligence. It will maintain and ajust to conditions.
 
For any boost controller on the MS3 wouldn't you be disconnecting the factory boost control solenoid? I would think that would get around the factory boost limits in 1st and 2nd, but why why why would you want to? Do you enjoy toasting your tires or something? :D
 
if you like rightby the waste gate there is an electrnoics solenoid that controls boost, id imagine if you bypassed that and put a manual boost controller in place of that you can run consistent boost and loose the hole-shot advatange by causing more wheel spin... just my $.02
 
yes spinning the tires is always fun, but with the tires that i have that are near street slicks, i don't think 15 psi thru 1st and 2nd will be too bad. i've managed 20 with a bigger turbo on an eclipse that i once had.

It will run full boost at the turbo with a MBC or EBC as long as the factory stuff if bypassed. It pretty much has to be bypassed to be hooked up correctly and have stable boost. I dont know if anyone knows if timing or throttle angle is pulled along with boost in lower gears so it still might not retain full power with full boost. You could get a lot more pops and backfires running full boost as the ecu pulls timing? Seems like the EXed management is only runnning 14psi to acheive there 288whp so I would not recomend more than that for now. I seem to be at 12.5-13 in most upper gears stock so not much power seems to be avalible from upping boost a psi or two. Proper A/F ratios are likely where the power is at plus is will be much safer on the turbo as it is already close to maxed in is effeciency range..

I dont think it does on the Ms6's.. Our hardware is essentially the same. Just gotta cap everything removed from the loop off. Dont unplug anything electonic. I dont think the ecu can tell that its not working. I guess it still is, it likely is just opening and closeing a valve. I speculate the factory wastegate opens at a low level like 4psi. What I see in first gear. then uses a solenoid to trick or delay the signal to the wastegate to keep it from opening until set pressure is reached or it bleeds off pressure so the wastegate sees less pressure and stays closed. Depending on how the solenoid works one could likely wire it to stay in the high boost mode by sending the appropiate signal. No clue what it is though? A boost contoller likely would be easier.
