hi guys,

i've searched. i've gotten alot of valuable info. consensus is most use the blue spring. and alot are using two shims. many are using one shim. but most people who are chiming in, aren't otherwise stock. at the very least, the vast majority of ppl here have an intake.

i'm completely stock, other than the bpv (since i can't get my hands on a cobb sri).

so..for those w/completely stock Speeds, assuming your're using the blue spring, how many shims are you using? i do realize it's almost more a personal preference; i'm just trying to get a poll and some varying opinions.

thanks

so some quick driving impressions...

first tried blue spring, two shims. i couldn't hear any distinct bpv noise at all (remember i still have the stock airbox). but subjectively, i felt a smoother onset of boost and it felt like it held boost longer. then i tried the blue spring and NO shims. now i distinctly hear the "ping" (subtle). but subjectively, the car drove more like stock. felt a little more laggy, and there was a slight shudder/hesitation when i was getting off boost/off the throttle.

so far i like two shims; tomorrow i'll try one shim
