Has anyone else had their BCM fail after a short period of time? I have a 2012 Mazda 3 and the BCM needs to be replaced after only owning the car for 6 months. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Do you have the SkyActiv or non Sky powertrain? I've never heard of a BCM failure so early on. Generally speaking the BCM lasts the life of the vehicle. My guess is it was a fluke and you got a bad one - the circuitry could be faulty or perhaps the unit wasn't sealed properly and moisture was able to get inside. Sometimes when tech's can't pinpoint a problem they replace the BCM to see if that resolves the issue.

It is the non-Skyactiv model.

I just hope no more electrical gremlins surface again, at least in the near future.
