Bmw M3 ????

I ran into a really nice beemer today it said M3 I think but It looked bigger like an M5 it had a badge on the left side also opposite the M3 badge it said alana or inpana or somthing . So I show off a little and he pulls next to me at the light asked me how I like the car . i told him It was fun as hell and zippy but probably not like his ..... Well the light turns green we get to rolling a little and we both gun it.. i guess just too much anticipation : ) I actually started pulling on him in 2nd and 3rd then traffic pulled out in front of us . he pulls up and said he wanted to try again because his traction control was on I told him mine was too lol . To his defence he did have his GF in the car with him weighing him down but she wasn't a cow . Should'a said ok one more time for your hot GF : )

I really didn't think I had a chance just have mazdaspeed cai

Does anyone know what kida car this was or the specs it sounded awsome..

I've never seen one before I don't exactly remember I could see the m series tag and it had a badge on the other side said alina or something the fenders were flared out and it wasn't boxy like i think most bmw's look.

The 2008 M3 is going to have an upgraded engine to a V8, since the new 3 series are going to be putting out similar power to the past M3s (310HP or so). The new M3 will put out about 420HP, but will only put just shy of 300lbs of torque. 0-60 at around 4.7secs. I would still purchased an M5 over the new M3 any day.

that might be it but it had some kind of badge on it like it was modified or something maybe it just something he added it seemed a lot sportier looking though . Maybe just in person . Its hard to tell I past him so quick . jk

alana or inpana sounds like it was probably an alpina badge. Alpina is a bmw tuner who's been around forever, I don't know much about them or what packages they offer for the 3-series.

I guess the real question is how fat was his GF? I know my mother in law can have a severe impact on my 0-60 times.

E-46's arent that fast... Theres a couple local E-46 M3's rolling around my area licking their wounds from my MS3's bite. I certainly wouldnt be afraid of any Alpina... The 335i on the other hand is the fast beemer that will give you a nice run.

My buddy at work has a silver M3. I think it's a 2006 or 2007. It has a same little horizontal grill on the front fender as the red one in the photo above. I don't know how fast it is but I do know it's about twice the price of my MS3.

Ive run into a couple of 05 or 06 m3s....its really up to the driver, if they wound it up to 4500 rpms and launched it we would be toast off a stop. I ran one twice last week and we did the usual street start , light rurns green , dont know if the other guys is gonna floor it etc etc. we were dead even both times except for one fact , he had an smg transmission wich is one of those clutchless manuals and every time I shifted I lost 1/2 a car length , by the time we were 70-75 mph he was 1 car ahead. and those cars new are 55k at least so less than half price .

Are you sure they were racing? I've ridden/driven in a few E46 M3s and they are considerably quicker than the MS3. Maybe my MS3 is slow, or maybe I'm more truthful.....or maybe a combo of the two.

M3s are ten a penny in UK, all the posers/hairdressers drive them, my bosses son has one and its only a little bit faster than my car, certainly not worth 30k more not a chance

Alpinas are fairly common too as rarer cars go, a lot faster than the vanilla beemers

Oh here we go again with the resident ****** experts on the board. Yeah, they were racing me. I know a few people with SMG powered M3's.. you guys overate them to much on this board. Learn how to drive your MS3.. if you still havent figured out how to drive it, come down here and ill give you a crash course on launching this car at 2300 rpm while slippin the clutch...
