Blue needles and Yellow overlays

How hard is it to "scrape off" the orange layer. I want to do this, but it's not worth it to me if there is a high risk of breakage.

I would like the needles and illumination to be blue, but I like the stock faces and don't need overlays. Any sort of package deal on the above mentioned kit, minus the overlays?

I was also wondering if the same bulbs are used for the climate controls. If so, then I need some extra pairs.

I think either way you can count me in for at least the illumination bulbs.

all right, im gonna confirm prices for everyone and start a GB thread tomorrow sometime.

Ill post a link to that thread here and everyone who has said they are in for sure on this thread will be added automatically. Im lookin at around 2 weeks leaving the gb open and then close it and get things shipped out.

Last prices I had(and I will confirm these) are:
polarg 194 bulbs(blue, white, red etc): $9 a pair shipped.
needle kit(includes to large and 2 small for all the needles) 70 shipped. (and if 70 sound slike alot for a needle kit these come with the ring bulbs, not normal light bulbs, specifically made for gauge needles so the illumination looks right)

and the face overlays are 25 shipped, all of these prices based on 5 buyers for each.

there is a total kit available for all 3(needle kit, 194 bulbs x6 and overlays) for around 108 shipped.

will have all the prices confirmed tomorrow.

awesome!! Thanks for getting this started.. woot woot.. :)

THANKS everyone for the comments. They were pretty easy to install. As for Price I paid 30 for the overlays and the needles were 69.90 and I think 3.75 shipping. So together it was like 103.65 I ordered mine from

http://www.importintelligence.com

Just a couple days to get. There have a few different colors as well. Any thing else just ask. THANKS

I believe that is the same uy I was ging through except he updated his site and got a new domain.

I am waiting to hear back from him and will confirm everything then.

???

I'm confused. You are getting NEW needles in the kit, meaning you have to remove the original ones and replace with the new one? If so, you are completely ruining your needle calibrations. If i'm wrong, please explain to me how this kit works.

Thanks

What you get is 4 very tiny sticker that fit on the inside of the rings. The color light is projected into the plastic and that changes the color. I followed there instructions and scraped the white off with a razor blade, but I don't think you need to remove the white to be honest

If you look at your needles, There is a little strip there on the under side.

Coqui258: Yea its 70 for the needles.

man people dont read well, from my posts or that site.

IT is not a needle change, you leave your stock needles, and cmon people how f'n hard do you think it would be to remove that orange strip on the bottom of the acryllic needles, if I can paint the needles bases I know I can do this.

Also the needle kits are NOT just stickers, please go read the web site for info if you have doubts but basically it is a C/F light RING that going in the needle base that makes the light.

And no when you switch to the polarg194 bulbs your gauges WONT STAY ORANGE< they will change the color of the bulb, all he has in stock right now is red or white I believe.

and no u dont need the overlays to make the bulbs or needle kits work, if you have black faces on your gauges though it will significantly helo make it look right.

please before assuming it is just a sticker or whatever go read the web site, it specifically says it is a CF light ring , like a bulb, but in ring shape that makes the needles glow.

505zoom, what bulbs did u use and what places in the back of the dash did u replace, there are 6 specific spots/bulbs u need to replace and u have to use POLARG 194 bulbs, regular blue 194 bulbs u can buy in checker will not work.

trust me , the orange is not permanent. unless that is MSP specific.

I'm happy with my reverse gauges but am down for blue needles:
