Blue Line in the Headlight Beam on 2017 GT AWD

Hi folks,

I'm just getting used to my new CX-5 and have what I hope is not a silly question.
Recently I noticed something in my headlights in particular an irregular dark blue line starting from the outer edges at the very top of the beam. I first noticed it when pulling up to my white garage door. I love the new High Definition headlights in the 2017 but it seems they are aimed to hit just below the height of a street sign at about 100 feet. Is this height about right in everyone's experience? And what about the blue line in the headlight, what could that be?

Let me say I absolutely LOVE this car. It's my second ever Mazda, the first was a truck many years ago.

you mean something like this ? totally normal, it's the LED / projector lens combo that creates that effect,

some people think it looks cool...... don't worry, that's normal

+1 for that super clean cut off ...
coming from halogens the LEDs make my 2AM drive home visibly safer.

It's a known technical side-effect of the lighting technology used.

People pay an arm and a leg to retrofit their cars in order to gain a sharp Cutoff with color. I saw an older 2000's Civic one time. Must've had s2000 lenses retrofitted. Laser sharp and clean cutoff.

This phenomenon is caused by chromatic aberration of the projector lens, which is likely made out of polycarbonate. It doesn't affect anything negatively and is normal. Cheers
