Despi, thanks VERY much for posting that.

Fact is, my interior is pretty much black, so I don't want it to look grey.

It's really not that bad TBH but for me, it just didn't match with my steering wheel cover which was a much richer, deeper black. For all intensive purposes, they will match your interior fine I think. Here's my take: If you compared Redline's black alcantara to your steering wheel or the centre console rubber/plastic lid, it will appear to be black. But if you compare it to the piano black trim you have, it will look grey.

Hope that helps. You can also order up a sample of their materials first and compare before ordering the full set.

i got black alcantara with red stitching and got it shortened 1 inch to fit my tsw short shifter and ebrake boot i have a 08 ms3 sport

Yeah but if it's going to look grey, I don't want it. Have any pictures of yours?

I could take some but my photography skills are none existent so I don't know if pics can show the true difference. I also went and tried spraying them with some suede show renew to get them darker but that didn't work out too well either.

I can give it a shot and you can be the judge for yourself. Give me a day or two.

This thread like literally got me to buy a shiftboot and a ebrake boot in black alcantra with red stitching |:

anyone ever round up some pics of the black w/red stitching faux alcantara boots installed. sounds good, but i'm concerned about the gray appearance.

Thanks

redlinegoods alcantara is not the same as in our GT's. i was considering it before i got mine. i like the soft look, but it wont match as well as genuine leather would, also the "jdm red" stitching is a perfect match

Here's what i did
